“Wait!” Harry shouted, rushing into the room. He was wearing black mesh armor, arm blades, a sword on his back, a utility belt, and had a hover board looking object under his arm. “I’m coming with you.”

“No Harry,” Acacia said. “I couldn’t bear to lose someone else I care about.”

“Listen, I’m not gonna let you go out there alone Acacia!” He argued.

“We don’t have time for this Osborn.” Josh said. “You’re not going to make it back. Sit this out.”

“I’ve got my dad’s arsenal and more!” He replied. “Pumpkin bombs, razor bats, and this new glider Celeste helped me design, the Sky Stick.”

“Harry, it’s too dangerous!” Acacia shouted. “I don’t care how many new toys you have, I won’t permit you to come!”

“It’s not just my gear.” He said. “I… I juiced on the Green.”

“You did what?” Josh growled.

“Harry…” Acacia said, truly shocked.

“Listen, it’s not the first time I’ve done it, but when this is over, it will be the last.” He walked up and took Acacia’s hand. “I promise.” Acacia sighed. She turned and nodded at Josh.

“Fine.” Josh said, as he signaled Agent Becket. He powered up his armor. “Time to organize.” Agent Becket pressed the button, and in a flash of blue light, Josh, Acacia, and Harry were gone.

A few yards away, hiding behind a barn house, was Director Maria Hill, Clay Quartermain, and three other S.H.I.E.L.D agents. Hill loaded her gun.

“Alright, here’s the plan,” she said. “Quartermain, I need you and Dugan to lay down some cover fire. Get her attention.”

“You got it Hill.” Quartermain replied.

“Sharon, I want you and Gabriel to circle around back and see if you can get the drop on her. Shoot to kill.”

“Confirmed.” Sharon responded.

“I’m going to position myself on top of the barn and take the sniper shot.”

“I don’t think you should be out in the open like this.” Gabriel replied. “It’s too dangerous.”

“Yeah,” Dugan said. “We lost one director, we ain’t lookin’ to lose another.”

“I’m flattered, all of you.” She said. “But we’re S.H.I.E.L.D. And we’ve got a job to do.”

“Amen to that.” Quartermain said. “Let’s put this puppy on ice.” The five agents moved in on Darkstream. Darkstream, flying above the fields, paused, then smiled.

Suddenly Jocasta walked into the room. “Hey, what’s up Jocasta?”

“We have a visitor.” She said, stepping to the side. Agent Rice walked into the room. Josh looked in confusion.

“Agent Rice?” He said. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m here to solve Eileen’s problem.” Rice replied.

“Problem?” Eileen said. “I don’t have a problem.”

“Yeah, Eileen’s fine.” Acacia said. “So I think you should pack up and get out of here.”

“Did anyone notice that Lightstream killed someone yesterday?” Rice said. Eileen’s heart skipped a beat.

“Yeah, she’s the one with the problem.” Josh said. “Why don’t you go talk to her.” Rice sighed.

“You idiots really haven’t figured it out yet.” He said. “Eileen is Lightstream.”

Here’s a preview:

It was 10:00 pm. The night air was cold. It was significantly past Celeste’s bedtime. But that did not matter to her. She walked down the streets wearing a hoodie to block out the cold. The breeze picked up, and she pulled the drawstrings, drawing her hood in tighter. Celeste liked to sneak out at nights and clear her head. It helped her think. She turned down an alley where she saw four teenage boys leaning against the walls. She began to walk past them, but one grabbed her shoulder.

“Where you goin?” He asked.

“None of your business.” Celeste firmly replied. The boy stepped back.

“Oh, she’s a little girl.” He said. “Isn’t it a little late for you to be out alone?”

“Me? What about you? I heard the curfew for morons was 8:00.” The other boys laughed. He threw Celeste against the wall.

“So you got jokes, huh?” He said, taking out a nail gun. “Let’s see how funny you are now.” Celeste looked at him in confusion.

“Is that a nail gun?” She asked. “Seriously? You’re trying to shake me down with a nail gun? Do you even have the IQ points to use that thing?”

“That’s enough mouth from you! Waste her!” Celeste took off running and all the boys began chasing her.
